This series will introduce the foundational elements of Middle Eastern dance that combine basic technique with exciting rhythms. We will focus on basics such as body awareness, the anatomy of hip work and other isolations, an introduction to rhythm structure, an introduction to improvisation and building a dance (movement) vocabulary.
No Prerequisite - this class is open to all levels of experience. I recommend that most students take this class at least 2 sessions before signing up for the 8pm class.

Technique One

Technique/Combinations
This class is designed for the student who would like to continue the exploration
and excitement of Middle Eastern Dance. You must have attended a full six weeks of technique
class and have a strong understanding of the three basic hip directions before signing up
for this class. This class includes:
- building on the foundational elements of Middle Eastern
dance putting the dance (movement) vocabulary into combinations
- developing your Middle Eastern rhythm vocabulary
- learning choreography that helps to develop and polish your technique
- incorporating props and instruments, for example veils and zils (finger cymbals) plus much, much more.
